Cooper's Sleepover

On Friday afternoon, Jason and Alannah went to Grandma and Grandpa Wing's house to pick up Cooper for his turn spending time with us. We took Cooper shopping, and after about the second store, he fell asleep with Jason holding him. We continued our shopping quest for new sheets, in an attempt to kill time before Alannah had to go to a work meeting. Cooper and Jason dropped Alannah off and went to run some errands for Uncle Jason. After stopping at McDonald's for a Chicken nugget meal for Cooper, we returned to pick up Aunt Alannah from work. We went home and watched Peter Pan while we ate dinner. Cooper also enjoyed watching the ultrasound of his new baby cousin. After reading a few books, it was straight to bed.

Saturday morning began with Capn Crunch for breakfast and Spongebob Squarepants on the TV. We all got ready for the day and we were off again to do some shopping for maternity clothes for Alannah. After little success we went to Walmart to meet Tristy and get Jason and Cooper haircuts. Cooper was hesitant at first, but after a bribe of a new motorcycle was made, was well behaved through his entire haircut. He is such a handsome boy. Afterwards, we did a little grocery shopping, and Tristy took him to drop him off at his dad's.

Alannah is still growing, which is a growing concern with our upcoming trip to Wisconsin in March. Fortunately it is starting to warm up here in Utah, so Alannah is wearing some of her lighter clothes that still fit. Unfortunately when we visit Echo, Kenny and Nolan, Wisconsin will still be cold. Thus the reason for our frantic search for winter maternity clothes, before they all disappear with the upcoming season change. We have been finding lots of winter clothes on clearance sales which is nice since it is hard to justify buying maternity clothes for a season Alannah is done with.

We are currently in our Eighteenth week of our pregnancy and are beginning to become increasingly impatient with anonymity of our baby's gender. We have a Doctors Appointment tomorrow, unfortunately not to find out the gender. But, having already worn out our patience, we are going to try to convince the doctor to perform an ultrasound and take a peek. So, get your votes in while you can, because if we have our way tomorrow, we will know by the end of the afternoon. It would be nice to start calling the baby by name, so the kids can quit referring to Alannah's belly as "Baby Cousin." Cooper has made it a habit of lifting up Alannah's shirt and kissing her belly and saying "Wuv you baby tousin," then pulling her shirt back down and going about his business.

Well once again, thanks to all of you for continuing to tune in occasionally, and leave your comments. Hopefully the next post will be the announcement of our baby's gender. Love you all, and take care.

Alannah's Belly is Growing

Alannah has finally allowed Jason to begin photographing her growing belly. Unfortunately we waited until she was 15 weeks before we started. :( So now Jason is going to try to make sure we get a picture of her belly every week. First is Alannah at 15 weeks.

Even at 15 weeks her belly is already poking out. It blows our minds that our baby is growing so fast, that Alannah's belly is reflecting that growth. She had to buy some maternity pants the other day, not because she can't fit into her pants, but because wearing a belt hurts her belly. Unfortunately if she doesn't wear a belt she suffers from plumber-itus (showing off of the crack). So her new maternity pants not only cover her crack, but they are more comfortable and are cute to boot. Luckily, she has many shirts, which Jason refers to as "preggy shirts," in her wardrobe. She has always like the style of shirt, even though Jason always jokes that they are for pregnant chicks, now they are coming in quite handy.
We are currently 2 week away from finding out the gender of our baby. We have an appointment on March 2, 2009 at Utah Valley to have major tests done on the baby, and find out the gender. We are very excited, and can't wait to find out. Alannah thinks it is a girl. Jason has always thought they would have a girl first, but now that we are pregnant he thinks it is a boy. Either way, we are just hoping the baby is healthy. If you get a chance, vote on the poll to the right of the blog, and we will check it daily to see what everyone thinks.

Last week when we had Kennedy over, we took some more pictures of Alannah's belly at 16 weeks. The shirt she is wearing is actually a maternity shirt and not one of her "preggy shirts." Isn't she beautiful? Jason thinks so, and thats all that matters.

So, continue to read, and vote in our poll if you get a chance. We will let everyone know as soon as we know. Love you all, and talk to you soon.

Jason's Triumph Over the Stroller

We bought our stroller/car seat combo today. Lance & Heidi found it for us at Costco for a really good deal. When we got home, we had to make the decision to leave it in the box or attempt putting it together. Of course Jason was not going to let a stroller intimidate him. He went straight to work piecing it together, with minimal help from the instruction manual. ;) Needless to say, after about an hour of assembly/reassembly he hailed victorious over the puny stroller.

Kenny Sue's Sleep Over

Hello again everyone!

This weekend Kennedy had her turn to spend some alone time with her Aunt Alannah and her Uncle Jason. We picked her up from Grandma and Grandpa Wing's house on Friday afternoon. We went shopping in Spanish Fork at Shopko to try to find Aunt Alannah some maternity clothes since her belly is growing by the day. After that we went to Walmart in Orem to find something for dinner. Kennedy was very good all day. She helped us shop and pushed around the cart. She picked out a Totinos pizza for her dinner, while we had steak and chicken. :) Since the thought of anything beef makes Alannah puke. Before we left Walmart Kennedy picked out a movie for us to watch from Redbox. She chose Super Mario Brothers 3! Which turned out better than Alannah expected.

We got home and cooked dinner and while Kennedy watched Oblio and the Land of the Point, which Kennedy says is her favorite movie. When dinner was ready, we watched the Mario Brothers and Kenny ate HALF of her pizza, and drank milk instead of sprite. Which is quite the feat in itself!

Aunt Alannah put Kennedy in the tub, and she was very good. She espescially enjoyed our shower head, that removes from the wall to rinse her hair. Kennedy played in the tub by herself for a while. Then she got dried off and Aunt Alannah put on one of Alannah's UVU shirts since she didn't want her PJs with feet on them. Aunt Alannah braided her hair, and she was ready for bed.

Afterwards we read 7 books with Kennedy. Her favorite was The Poky Little Puppy, which was Jason's favorite book when he was little. She read to us and counted the puppies and pointed out allof the colors.

Kennedy enjoyed reading, and was very well behaved throughout. Other than her extracaricular activity during the movie. ;) She fell asleep on the couch while watching Barnyard: The Original Party Animals.

The next morining she woke up EARLY, and crawled into bed with us. We slept for a little while longer, then got up and had breakfast. Aunt Alannah dressed Kenny, and Uncle Jason did her hair, which was messy after an hour of playing. Some of my best work really.

We watched some Bobby's World before taking her back to Spanish Fork to her Dad's house. We had a lot of fun, and she enjoyed rubbing Aunt Alannah's belly, while talking to her new cousin. Who, by the way, she thinks is a girl. Next week, we are going to try to take Cooper, so check back again. Thanks for stopping by!

We're Having a Baby!!

Hi Everyone!

First off we'd like to apologize for not posting in almost 2 years. A lot has happened since then. We are currently enjoying our third year of marriage and we are happier than ever. On December 1, 2008 we found out that our family would be expanding, along with Alannah's belly. We were six weeks Pregnant!

We kept this as a secret through the holidays, and finally told the family during Alannah's birthday parties. It was hard keeping the secret for that long, but it was worth it to see how happy everyone was. We are now 15 weeks along and our anxiously awaiting to find out the gender of our baby. We will find out on our niece, Kennedy's birthday, March 2. And strangely enough we are due on our nephew Cooper's birthday on July 24.

Our last ultrasound shows the baby at 12 weeks, and it is very healthy, an grown a lot since our first ultrasound at 6 weeks. We will work very hard to keep everyone posted on how things are coming along and we will be sure to post pictures as they come.

Love you all! The Whittaker Family.
